Lewis Hamilton started the race well and leading position he continued to watch. But the problem must be willing to make the brakes stop in the middle of the race which he won by Sebastian Vettel who kept shadowing on the track.
Hamilton determined to close the 2009 season with the highest podium at the GP of Abu Dhabi did not materialize. Constraints brakes on the rear wheel car forcing him to pull over and retired.
Hamilton's misfortune to be a blessing for Vettel who previously followed the McLaren drivers on the track. After Hamilton had a problem and then out, Vettel became intolerable in the Yas Marina champion.
Mark Webber is starting in the top three also managed to maintain position. Post-discharge Hamilton, he climbed into second position and stay there at the end of the race despite a fierce challenge from Jenson Button who had been ascertained to be champions this season.
For Button himself, the third podium after starting from fifth position is the first after three series absent from the podium. The last podium he traces the second place in the Italian GP last 13 September.
